Ecouture was about creating high fashion clothing and accessories with reusable, recyclable items (paper, plastic, cardboard, foil, old clothing, anything conceivable), and displaying the fashions in a community space. The event is as much about the individual artistic creation, as it is about bringing the local community together through art, activism, and music.

Ecouture was held in conjunction with the University Art Museum's Student Advisory Group (SAG). The Artists Cooperative was given a stipend for the event from the University Auxiliary Services and the University Art Museum.

The event was featured around the museum's ongoing show, Live with Less by artist Jason Middlebrook, who re-imagines discarded materials as something beautiful and useful. Ecouture was the OFFICIAL close of the Live with Less!!!!

DJ MRose--- also known as our faithful Mariah Dahl--- was the announcer for the event! DJ Truemaster spun world funk and hip-hop before and during the fashion show! The Scientific Maps and Beware! the Other Head of Science graciously played after the event!!!

We had tabling demonstrations from various groups on campus and within the local community, as well as a workshopping demo on how to make ecouture clothing from recyclable materials.

Many local businesses donated food and door prizes.

All the raw materials and produce was donated by Honest Weight Food Cooperative and cooked by our member Monica Jerminario! All the food was gluten-free, vegan, local, and seasonal!!!

We thank all of those who helped/attended/modeled Ecouture! You made the experience quite memorable.
